Larian have also mentioned that the Editor for the Definitive Edition will come at a later date, and all Classic mods will not be compatible with the new update. However, if you’re a newcomer or your current playthrough’s only at a couple of hours, then go ahead and just pick Definitive mode and re-roll. If you want to continue your old adventures and have spent roughly 100 hours already, it’s probably a good idea to finish it first. Sadly, Classic saves are not compatible with Definitive mode. Once you’re done with the upgrade, you’ll notice that you can now choose between Classic and Definitive Editions. There’s also a small change in the tutorial as well as four new levels in Arena mode. So many facets of Divinity: Original Sin 2 have been overhauled such as the UI, journal, and dialogue. It’s a whopping 8.2 GB update so just be aware of that.
